Since I just posted a Wilt Chamberlain signed 8 x 10 it’s only fitting that I post biggest rival, Bill Russell. Bill Russell is a dominant force for the Celtics both offensively and defensive. He won 11 NBA championships with the Celtics and will always be remembered as one of the greatest Celtics, and greatest men, to ever play the game. This is a beautiful black-and-white 8 x 10 with His autograph in blue sharpie, clean. Bold. And bright.

Topps Contemporary was a pretty cool set. They had extremely bright, very hard to grade, because the surface scratches so easily, refractor-like finishes. They had gold refractor parallels as well. My favorite sunset was the inscriptions subset. I had a hard time deciding between getting this, Paul Pierce, “The Truth” inscription or another one in which he inscribed Celtic pride. You can’t go wrong with the iconic nickname, however. So I settled on this one. And I’m happy I did.

I think this is the last of my Tatum rookie auto collection that I have left. I’ve posted the rest in the last few days. The disco retail parallel isn’t as desired and for me, is a little too busy. I like the focus to be on the player/design and not the background. (Although I like the pulsar look and the dragonscale look on some, the mojo and disco and sparkle and some of the rest distract from the focus of the card)

Cornerstones is an interesting product. They are pretty cool - I get the little visually appealing jersey pieces and patch pieces, but I think more people appreciate a larger, chunky piece of patch in a larger window. These are a mid range product that sometimes sell for high-end price point. I only have a few in my collection and probably will stick to products with larger patch windows. Still, this looks pretty cool as the green jersey stands out from the white card stock, and the on-card autographs help!
