1910 T220 Champions 🥊 Joe Gans
1910 T220, Champions, Joe Gans 🥊 World Lightweight Champion
Joe Gans was the first African-American to win a world boxing title in the 20th century. He held the World Lightweight Championship from 1902 to 1908 and was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
Even 115 years later, this card is still visually striking, not dull or washed out.
1910 T220 boxing cards are particularly stunning because their rich lithography, vivid backgrounds, elegant portrait poses, and historically important fighters combine to create some of the most artistically beautiful early sports cards ever printed.
I prefer T220 Champions over most other tobacco boxing cards of that era.
