1910 T220 Champions George Dixon ⭐ Boxing Pioneer In 1890, Dixon defeated England's Nunc Wallace in London to win the world bantamweight championship. He therefore became the first Black athlete to win a recognized world championship in any sport. He was also the first Canadian-born world boxing champion. That places him before Jack Johnson by nearly two decades.
