100 Years ⭐ "Father of Japanese Baseball"
1926-29 Exhibits Postcard Back ⭐ Lefty O'Doul
This card is magnificent for a 100 year-old piece of cardboard.
I bought it raw several years ago and sent it in to be graded.
Looks better than a 1.5 to me.
He started out as a lefty pitcher but reinvented himself as an outfielder and became one of the most dominant hitters of the 1920s and early ’30s, winning two National League batting titles and finishing with a .349 lifetime average.
Beyond his on-field success, he is revered as the “father of Japanese baseball” for his role in organizing and leading pioneering U.S. tours to Japan, helping to forge the deep baseball bond between the two countries.
