My vintage card of the week: The 1941 Play Ball Jimmie Foxx. This was the first 1940s card I acquired. Found it at my local card shop, which has a really great vintage selection, especially for a shop in a small town. The artwork immediately caught my eye. Just gorgeous colors that make the card a pleasure to look at. And Foxx was an absolute stud: 3X MVP; triple-crown winner; 534 career HR; and a cartoonish career OPS of 1.038.
