Sandy was the Los Angeles Dodgers top rookie in 1970 going 7-7 with a team leading 3.13 earned run average. He started 1971 poorly with a 6.92 ERA through 10 games and was sent to the Minors. He never returned with arm injuries ending his career in 1973. Sandy Vance turns 79 today.
