These star notes were printed originally at the DC location in 2014. Then in 2016 6.65 million notes were erroneously reprinted at the FW location and issued with identical serial numbers.

Been on a bit of an obsessed hunting expedition for these the last 15 months.

I’ve been scouring eBay and amassed a DB of about 8,300 unique serials I know have been auctioned and some DBs of others. I check new eBay auctions against those to ID matching pair notes and pick up those that for whatever reason haven’t been ID’d as such by anyone else for the typical $20.

I’ve had two like that so far where the owner of the other is MIA and not responding.

This time I got through, bought the second one for a few hundred $ and am now officially in the exclusive club as an owner of a matched pair!

I’ve got a handful of remaining known match notes I’ll be working to see if I can get more pairs assembled. Some I may hold to wait for the owner to put their matching note up for sale as many hoarders are starting to do with their big piles.

But good to finally have one pair secured!
