Inaugural Oakley Greens Card Party was a success!

Sports Cards

Card Show

Collecting

People want to gather. Yesterday was one of those days that I’ll carry with me for a long time.

The best example of gathering was Randy Stumpf and his three sons there to support Randy’s 1st time ever setting up at a card show. Evan, Brady, and CJ showed up for their dad and personified the entire day.

Yesterday started early in Cincinnati. The Olympic gold medal hockey game—USA vs. Canada—was at 8:10am, and Oakley Greens opened early for a watch party so people could come together. Families showed up. Moms and dads with kids. Friends meeting up for an early beverage and country pride. USA pride on full display on a Sunday morning.

And it was the perfect lead-in to the Inaugural Oakley Greens Card Party.

Liquid Sports Cards came into existence in August 2024 for one simple reason: bring people together around the most fun hobby in the world—collecting cards.

Most of the folks who came for hockey didn’t even know there was a card show happening. They might not be “collectors” today… but when they were kids, a lot of them were. And now their kids are collectors, too.

During setup, Marissa handed out 1990–91 Upper Deck hockey packs to everyone watching the game. Just a little love for the people who showed up to gather with friends. And who doesn’t love ripping a pack?

A bunch of them stuck around after the medal ceremony and checked out the show:

• Kids asked for $10 so they could dig through the $1 boxes and grab a Joe Burrow or an Elly De La Cruz card.

• Young adults found some Pokémon packs and relived their childhood.

• And the “junk wax era” collectors saw something they loved 30–40 years ago come back to life.

Getting to host that—watching people connect, laugh, trade, rip packs, and share a moment—was a huge joy for me.

People want to come together. That’s why Liquid Sports Cards exists.

If you missed this one, I’d love to see you at our next event at Oakley Greens on March 29th, 10am–3pm (vendors committed to being there the full time). Our vendors show up with one goal: to create a great experience and share the hobby with you. Mark your calendar now.

Thank you for yesterday. It meant the world to me.

If there’s anything we can do to help you enjoy the hobby more, just say the word. Have a great week!
