2001 Fleer Greats of the Game Autograph ⭐ Wilmer Fields
This 2001 Fleer issue is phenomenal.
Wilmer Fields left a profound legacy on American baseball and society as a star two-way player and advocate. Fields served his country in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II before becoming an ace for the legendary Homestead Grays, pitching them to the 1948 Negro League World Series. After his playing days, he became the long-time president of the Negro League Players Association, tirelessly securing pensions and educating the public about Black baseball history.
The hobby owes a debt of gratitude to Fleer for capturing the autographs of historical Negro League players before it was too late.
