When I first got back into collecting a few years ago, I was told to buy a hobby box. You can imagine the sticker shock I felt when I realized what used to be 36 packs for ~$40 (back when I stopped collecting in the mid-90s) was now over $300 for a box of maybe 5 packs. But surely that meant there had to be valuable cards inside! Lmfaoooo

Anyway, on my last pack I pulled one of the greatest QBs ever numbered to /25 and I was ecstatic! Until I checked eBay and learned that in today’s hobby decent RCs > HOFers and /25 may as well mean /5000.

I love this John Elway card though. It serves as an amusing memory of the time I got back into the hobby and realized just how much everything had changed 😂
