Arthur Emory Sudler Jr. (1905–1968) was an American commercial artist and advertising executive best known as co-founder of the agency Sudler & Hennessey, which became a pioneer in medical advertising. Born in Baltimore, he studied at Baltimore City College and the Maryland Institute, later working as art director for E.R. Squibb & Sons before establishing his own firm in 1936. Sudler’s approach combined dramatic visuals with clear, human translations of complex medical information, shaping pharmaceutical and consumer advertising in the mid-20th century. He was also recognized for nurturing creative talent within his agency, which became one of the leading firms in its field. Sudler retired in 1966 and passed away two years later, leaving a lasting legacy in both art and advertising.
