1 of 2 players to lead an entire decade in hits and not voted into the HOF. Grace led the 1990’s in hits w/ 1,764 & Doubles w/ 364. The other player is Pete Rose who led the 1970’s with 2,045 hits which is the most ever in a decade.
Grace pitched in a blowout loss to the Dodgers and gave up the only career HR to Dodgers catcher David Ross.
Grace was in the Jim Belushi movie “Taking Care of Business”. This was JJ Abram’s first screenplay.
While playing for the Cubs in ‘89 NLCS he batted .647. The Cubs lost to the San Francisco Giants
He wore #17 in his career out of his admiration for fellow 1B Keith Hernandez
He was basically the star of one of the most popular Jim Rome Show episodes because he described his “SlumpBuster” strategy.
Won a World Series with the Diamondbacks in 2001
