All About That Base 101: 2024 Bowman Sterling

Sports Cards

Baseball Cards

Oakland A's

On one hand, I’m all for variety. Different sets speak to different collectors and the more sets the merrier in The Hobby. On the other hand, there’s definitely a difference in modern collecting versus when I discovered and was enthralled with cards as a kid.

Now we have tons of Bowman and tons of Topps sets for baseball. And only those brands [along with unlicensed Panini/Donruss]. I think the design ingenuity now versus the early 90s when we had Topps, Upper Deck, Score, Fleer, Donruss and Bowman all licensed isn’t the same. The variety of design and niche was far better then. Bowman Sterling promotes itself as a top tier product. Is it really much different than the other Bowman Chrome brands? I just don’t see it.
