Mail CALL š£ Travis "Stonewall" Jackson
1933 Goudey #102, Travis Jackson ā
Today's mail brought my 6th card from the 1933 Goudey Baseball Card set, the colorful cornerstone of modern baseball card collecting.
I couldn't be happier to add the first playing days card of this Hall of Famer to my collection.
Travis Jackson was a standout defensive shortstop (hence the nickname "Stonewall:) for the New York Giants from 1922 to 1936, known for his slick fielding and strong, accurate arm. A consistent hitter, he posted a career .291 batting average and helped lead the Giants to four pennants and a World Series title in 1933. Respected for his leadership and steady play, Jackson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.
