Just received these back from Brandon and his team at CollectibleXchange. Entrusting my husband’s collection to the industry’s best was the only path forward—honoring a passion that shaped his life and the legacy it deserves. Each card is evaluated with precision and priced against both raw comps and projected graded outcomes—data-driven, transparent, and built for long-term value.
Alan’s Legacy
This journey didn’t start as mine—it was my husband’s.
As a young boy navigating dyslexia, he found clarity, confidence, and purpose through sports cards. What began as a challenge became his strength. Cards weren’t just collectibles—they were tools that helped him focus, learn, and ultimately overcome.
After his passing, I made the decision to carry that legacy forward—not just preserving what he built, but elevating it.
I’ve since immersed myself in the business side of the hobby, including invaluable time spent learning from Brandon Steiner himself —a recognized pioneer in the sports memorabilia industry, founder of Steiner Sports, and a leader in athlete partnerships, authenticated collectibles, and direct-to-market fan engagement. His decades of experience working with major leagues, teams, and collectors helped shape my understanding of both the emotional and financial value behind every card.
Today, our inventory spans both vintage and modern eras, curated with a focus on quality, scarcity, and long-term portfolio strength.
One of the most important conclusions I’ve reached—through mentorship, market analysis, and extensive research—is this:
Condition is the true currency of the hobby.
Not labels. Not plastic slabs. Not inconsistent third-party opinions.
The traditional grading model introduces variability. Studies and collector experiments have shown that the same card submitted multiple times can receive different grades—sometimes varying by an entire grade level or more. That variance alone can swing value by 20–200% depending on the card and tier.
Grading is also influenced by:
• Subjective human evaluation
• Submission volume and grading fatigue
• Evolving standards over time
• Resubmission bias (“cracking and resubmitting” to chase higher grades)
By contrast, condition-based evaluation focuses on the actual, observable attributes that drive value:
• Centering ratios
• Surface integrity (print lines, gloss, scratches)
• Edge sharpness
• Corner wear
• Registration and print quality
These are measurable. Repeatable. Transparent.
In financial terms, removing grading volatility reduces speculative risk and increases pricing efficiency—two principles that serious collectors and investors should prioritize.
Raw cards lack defined standards. Graded cards introduce inconsistency.
Condition-based selling bridges that gap.
It creates a more stable, data-driven approach to valuation—one that aligns with how seasoned collectors actually assess cards in high-level transactions.
This isn’t just a philosophy—it’s a strategy.
A strategy built on legacy, discipline, and respect for the details that truly matter.
Because in this hobby, the sharpest eyes—not the loudest labels—build the strongest portfolios.
