For years, I mistakenly thought that this set used gold foil.
I have come to learn that 1965 Topps Embossed used no foil at all.
The cards were embossed (raised lettering and images) using pressure printed on standard cardboard.

The set was Issued as a test-style or specialty set, not part of the flagship release amd was visually flashy for the era, but the look was achieved purely through texture, not by using metallic material.
