Community Guidelines

Welcome to our community for collectors! This is a place where you can showcase, discuss, and celebrate your collections with others who share your passion. All of Mantel has a shared set of rules and guidelines that are listed below. On top of this, each Mantel community may set its own rules in extension of the guidelines below, which are defined and enforced by the moderators of that community.

Our Vision

While not every post or community may be for everyone, every member should feel welcomed and safe here. Our platform is defined by its users, and every post, comment, and interaction helps shape the culture. Let’s build a space that celebrates our shared interests while being mindful of others.

Platform Rules

1. No hate speech or discrimination.
This community is here for creating connections, not for attacking or excluding others. Harassment, bullying, and threats of violence are strictly prohibited. Everyone has the right to engage in discussions free of hate or discrimination.

2. Privacy and safety of others.
Do not share anyone's personal or confidential information without consent. Instigating harassment, for example by revealing someone’s personal details, is not allowed. This includes refraining from sharing or threatening to share intimate or explicit content without permission.

3. Abide by community-specific rules.
Each community within our network may have its own set of rules. Always follow the guidelines of the spaces you participate in. Do not disrupt communities in which you do not have a genuine interest.

4. Share authentic content and be honest.
Share your genuine collections, insights, and interests. Avoid misleading posts, plagiarism, or impersonating others. Your contributions should be meaningful, not spammy or disruptive.

5. No buying, selling, or trading unless explicitly allowed.
This platform primarily focuses on celebrating collections, not facilitating transactions. If specific communities allow buying, selling, or trading, ensure you follow their rules.

6. Keep content appropriate and legal.
Explicit, abusive, or suggestive content, especially involving minors, is strictly prohibited. Ensure your posts are relevant to the hobby and interests of collectors. Additionally, avoid sharing illegal content or engaging in activities that promote unlawful behavior.

7. Avoid spamming and disruptive behavior.
Refrain from excessive self-promotion, spam, engagement manipulation, or other tactics to game the platform. Constructive, thoughtful engagement is encouraged.

8. Protect the experience for everyone.
Properly label content, especially if it’s graphic or potentially sensitive. Make sure your contributions are respectful of others' interests and comfort levels.

Enforcement

We want to ensure a positive experience for everyone, and we have several ways to enforce these rules, including:

• Asking you nicely to correct your behavior.
• Temporarily or permanently suspending accounts.
• Removing privileges or restricting accounts.
• Adding restrictive tags or quarantining communities if necessary.
• Removing content that violates our guidelines.
• In extreme cases, banning accounts or communities.

Final Thoughts

Our community is only what we make of it together, so please abide by not just the letter of these rules, but the spirit as well. Let’s build a vibrant, positive space for collectors to connect, share, and grow together!
