Bob Horner was a powerful slugger for the Atlanta Braves in the late 1970s and 1980s, known for his raw strength and quick rise to the majors after being the first overall pick in the 1978 draft. Injuries shortened what many thought could have been a Hall of Fame trajectory, but he still left behind one of baseball’s rarest feats. On July 6, 1986, Horner hit four home runs in a single game against the Montreal Expos, becoming only the 11th player in MLB history to do it. Remarkably, the Braves still lost the game 11–8, making his performance both legendary and bittersweet, a night where one player reached baseball immortality even in defeat.
