This set is just flat out cool.
In 2002, Fleer did not wildly overproduce Fall Classics — this was a mid-tier, history-focused product with real game used relic.
No official print run of this card exists, but it is estimated that 200-250 were produced.
Foxx vs. Martin: the 1931 World Series connection.

In 1931, the Philadelphia Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals met in the World Series for the second consecutive year.
Both clubs were loaded with future Hall of Famers. Foxx was already one of the dominant young sluggers in baseball for Philadelphia, while Pepper Martin was an emerging Cardinals outfielder.

Martin essentially became the defining figure of that World Series.

He hit .500 (12-for-24), scored five runs, stole five bases, and drove in five runs as St. Louis upset the heavily regarded Athletics in seven games. His performance earned him the nickname "The Wild Horse of the Osage."

Meanwhile, Foxx was hardly an insignificant participant. He hit .348 in the Series, including four home runs, and reportedly hit a ball completely out of Shibe Park in Game 4.
