It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Theron “Terry” Ira Knouse Jr., cherished NSCC board member, on September 10, 2025, just shy of his 79th birthday.

Terry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and community leader. His lifelong dedication to youth development—especially through Scouting—earned him the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.

As an avid collector and longtime Treasurer of the NSCC, Terry fostered lasting friendships and gave generously of his time and talents to strengthen our community. His legacy lives on through his passion for history and preservation, including his work with the Harrisburg Museum’s excavation of the “Knouse Site.”

Terry will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity, sharp wit, and unwavering commitment to service. Our hearts are with his family, and we honor his memory by continuing his work of kindness and dedication.
