The final graded vinyl I’ll be sharing from my Vintage Media Grading submission is this white label promo copy of “It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back” by Public Enemy. Note that I utilized VMG’s sleeve + vinyl grading option, slabbing it in a hinged case that opens like a book, enabling me to display both slides of the sleeve and vinyl.

I readily admit that I overpaid for this copy and also chose the most expensive grading plan. That said, this is widely considered one of the greatest hiphop albums ever created, and on average I’ve only seen 1 copy of this promo for every 25-30 original pressing copies I’ve seen online. Approaching music collecting from a sports card collector’s mindset, I view this version as similar to a 1:24 pack parallel of a legendary player like Griffey or Bo. My collecting hunch could be way off here, but I think this will turn out to be a home run down the road…but even if it turns out to be a swing and a miss, I still have a beautiful piece of art.
