I’m sure most here have seen the news that the dual MJ/Kobe logoman sold for nearly $13M last night, making it the most expensive sports card sale ever.
I don’t like making sweeping statements after 1-off moments, but this does seem like a bit of a market shift.
As younger collectors come into money, and the memory of older stars like Mantle and Ruth fade a bit, we might start seeing a change in the types of big money cards people covet.
