I'm fascinated by what Sotheby's is doing with their NBA Auctions- loads of game-worn jerseys available for sale with BIN prices. The prices depend on how big the player is, and what they did in the game(s) the jersey was worn in, but you can find jerseys for as low as $750. You could argue a Richaun Holmes jersey from a game he scored 2pts and grabbed 2 boards isn't worth even $750, but for someone who wants to get into the game-worn space, wants to take a flier on a young player in the hopes they become a star, or just is a fan of a lesser-known guy, the 'low' cost of entry might be enticing. I'm not in the market and think there's risk that the supply will be too great given so many of these were 1-game jerseys, but it's intriguing.
Anyone buying?
