1987 O-Pee-Chee box bottoms
In honor of Canada Day! One of the best parts of late 1980s baseball cards were the box bottoms. I first discovered them working for CVS. My job included taking old boxes to the trash compactor. I realized that the 1989 Topps we sold had cards on the bottom of the empty boxes, so before stuffing them in the compactor, I cut off the bottom to take home! Ever since, I've loved the differences in the box bottoms to the main set (my favorites are the 1986's with the red borders instead of black). And I've collected the O-Pee-Chee versions, too. These boxes are intact (I usually collect just the bottom panel), because the '87s are mini-size and I prefer the full size cards.
