Rusty Staub ⭐ Le Grand Orange
Rusty was enormously popular in Montreal, learned French to connect with fans, and earned the nickname "Le Grand Orange" because of his red hair.
He was a six-time All-Star over a 23-year MLB career. Rusty had 2,716 hits, 499 doubles, 292 home runs, and drove in 1,466 runs.
Of all the players who never wore a Bucs uni during my youth, Rusty Staub was one of my favorites.
My first memory of Rusty was with the Expos, but I loved watching him play against the Bucs' bitter Eastern Division rival Mets.
