1963 Topps #544, Rusty Staub RC. This card has been on my wish list for years and years. Rusty Staub is one of the most beloved players in MLB history and a great player. He’s the only man in MLB history to have 500 hits with 4 different teams. He reached base over 4,050 times a total higher than many HOFers. The man belongs in the HOF.
1985 Topps #190, Rusty Staub.⭐ On September 18, 1975, at Shea Stadium, Rusty Staub becomes the first Mets player in the 14-year history of the franchise to drive in one hundred runs in a season. A two-run blast in the 5th inning accounts for ‘Le Grand Orange’s’ 100th RBI, in a 7-5 win over the Cubs.
Love the cards from the ‘74 Topps set. I think the photographer for Topps got all the Met players in great pictures during the game as the Tom Seaver card is awesome. This one from Rusty-looks great during his first stint with the Mets.
Rusty Staub was one of my favorite players even though he never played for my favorite MLB team. Rusty played 23-seasons in MLB. He was an All-Star 6 times and had 2,716 hits. He is the only player to have 500 hits with four different teams (Astros, Expos, Mets, Tigers).
