Pleasantly surprised buying direct from PSA on eBay

Non-Sports Trading Cards

Ebay Wins

PSA

Star Wars

Topps

I've been listening to a lot of card content - YouTube, Podcasts, etc, and the general sentiment towards PSA is obviously negative, not the grading delays, but more that they are moving into selling and repacking, which creates a conflict of interest, and that they are desperate for inventory, demonstrated by the fact they now have the functionality to make offers on the cards you send in for grading.

After losing out on a Stars Wars 1977 Topps Series 1 Luke Skywalker PSA8.5 at the weekend, I saw PSA had a PSA8 listed for sale on eBay at $4,000. I sent in what I thought was a fair offer based on the sale price of the 8.5 on Sunday, but it was 31% under the listing price, so I expected it to get ignored. I was pretty surprised that they accepted without negotiation, so I'm now the proud owner of this little beauty.
