2002 Fleer Fall Classic Rival Factions ā Game Used Bat Relic Frank Baker & Babe Ruth
Frank Baker and Babe Ruth were connected in several important ways, both historically and symbolically, during baseballās transition into the live-ball power era.
The most direct connection is that Baker was considered baseballās premier home run hitter before Ruth revolutionized the game. Baker earned the nickname āHome Runā during the dead-ball era after his dramatic World Series home runs for Connie Mackās Philadelphia Athletics in 1911. At a time when league leaders often hit only a handful of home runs, Baker led the American League in home runs four consecutive seasons (1911ā1914). His power was extraordinary for that era.
