Frank Klaus was German-American, born and raised in the coal mines near Pittsburgh. A coal miner turned fighter, he was a tough, relentless middleweight boxer known as the “Braddock Bearcat.” In 1913 Frank Klaus became world middleweight champion. Renowned for his brutal in-fighting style, he retired young and was inducted posthumously into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008.
