Some more Blue Jays content from me. (last night was just a blip on the way to glory)

Buck Martinez has been a part of the Blue Jays organization for almost 40 years - 6 as a player, 2 as a manager, and 30 as a broadcaster, and is beloved by the city of Toronto.

"I came here kicking and screaming in 1981, thinking, what the hell am I going to do in Toronto? I figured this was the end of my career. I'll play here in 1981 and be done."

Here he is as a member of the Royals in 1975. He hit .226 with 3 home runs that year, and was never much of a hitter, but he was a solid defensive catcher and pitchers liked working with him. All these years later, and he's still very much in the game.

A sad card for me, though I don't remember the play. The A's Joe Rudi rounds third base as my all-time favorite player, the Dodgers' Ron Cey, looks on. Rudi had just hit a tiebreaking home run in the 7th inning that wound up being the game-winner in the clinching Game 5 of the 1974 World Series.

Luis Tiant pitched his second complete game of the 1975 World Series in Game 4 against the Reds at Riverfront Stadium. The '75 WS is the first one I remember, but only snippets. Tiant is one of the snippets.

Been waiting patiently to pull the trigger on the 75 Ryan. A lot of them are either really sharp but off-centered, or centered but grade below 4. A PSA 5 is a solid score for a pre-1985 card, and the centering is pretty good!

For my 100 streak badge, what's better than my all-time favorite set? I started in the hobby buying packs of 1975 Topps, both the regular size and the mini size. Today both sets -- 50 years old this year -- are complete ('75 in 2004 and '75 mini in 2014)
