Taking a look at Shohei Ohtani’s 2018 Bowman RC in a PSA 10. The card is down 10% over the last 14 days and 20% over the last 30 days according to Card Hedge. Personally, I have changed my tune and think his cards will continue to slide in price. This is going to make things interesting over the course of this investigation. With access to Ohtani being extremely limited, I am wondering if collector’s begin to have more doubts about holding his cards long term.

I just went into the Market Overview feature on the Card Hedge homepage and was shocked at the numbers. For all of 2023, I tracked these numbers and they were mostly in a downward trend. To my surprise, these are the highest numbers across the board I have seen since we added this feature early on. Personally, this backs up my sales data with my ebay store, the sports card market is alive and well people!!

Finally had a weekend off from kids activities and was able to hit my local monthly show. Here’s what I grabbed for $130.

Wemby continues to dominate sports card sales with three of his rookies in the top 5 (by volume sold) seen on the card hedge app. Elly De La Cruz and CJ Stroud round out the top 5. My question is, when does the Wemby craze die down or does it at all?
