One of a kind piece from my personal collection - original Chevrolet advertising painting circa approximately 1929. I acquired this original painting as-is so not much history available - it's likely a concept proposal for a print ad, catalog or similar.
In a world where sports cards can sell for 6-7 figures, I think original advertising and design art is extremely undervalued. Most material of this type was destroyed in period after use and very little has survived, let alone come to the public market.
The artists who did advertising work for magazine ads, brochures, etc were exceptionally talented but rarely recognized
The actual art is in exceptional condition but the grey matting / border is stained - should I have this restored or leave as-is?
