On October 27, 2007, Daisuke Matsuzaka became the first Japanese born starting pitcher in World Series history, Game 3 of the World Series & the first WS game ever played at Coors Field.

Matsuzaka got the win for Boston, 10-5, giving up two runs on three hits in 5.1 innings. Matsuzaka also singled and drove in 2 runs for his first major league hit.

Boston obtained ‘Dice-K’ from the Seibu Lions, signing the World Baseball Classic MVP to a 6-year deal worth $52 million.
