1992 Upper Deck Dave Winfield 400 HR auto PSA DNA

Post image 1

This is one of three Winfield autographs in my collection. Rookie, this, and a sweet spot auto. I’d be open to adding a nice, high-end patch auto. But this one I got TTM about 20 years ago with a donation to his charity. I used to love the art cards like this or from Donruss Diamond Kings. I thought they made the perfect mini canvases for autographs.

If it’s possible for him to be underrated, Dave Winfield is still underrated. Look at these career highlights! There’s always been some recency bias with collectors. Out of sight, out of mind. Here is a decently high grade PSA DNA rookie auto. Dave Winfield had a legendary baseball career spanning 22 seasons (1973–1995), primarily with the San Diego Padres and New York Yankees, among other teams. Here are some of his key highlights:
• Hall of Fame Induction: Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001 (first ballot).
• 3,110 Career Hits: One of only a few players to reach 3,000 hits and 400 home runs.
• 465 Home Runs: A powerful and consistent hitter.
• 12× All-Star: (1977–1988) Showcased excellence for over a decade.
• 7× Gold Glove Winner: (1979–1985) Known for his elite defense in right field.
• 6× Silver Slugger: (1981–1985, 1992) Recognized as one of the best hitters in baseball.
• 1992 World Series Champion: Hit the game-winning double for the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 6 against the Braves.
• MLB Draft Legend: The only athlete ever drafted in four different professional sports leagues (MLB, NBA, ABA, and NFL).
• San Diego Padres Hall of Fame: One of the franchise’s all-time greats.
• Philanthropy: Created the “Winfield Foundation” to help underprivileged youth.
Winfield was known for his athleticism, leadership, and versatility, making him one of the greatest players of his era.
