2001 NFL TOPPS LaDanian Tomlinson and Drew Brees rookie cards ✅✅ What a phenomenal draft by SD selecting LT in the 1st round and Brees in the 2nd. Yes, I realize that Brees didn’t play his rookie year (backed up Doug Flutie) and the large majority of the success in his career was in New Orleans, but nonetheless, still an impressive draft! Side note: I can VIVIDLY remember opening this pack in 2001 and I accidentally damaged the top of the Brees card (see last photo) in trying to put it into a case and I was so upset lol to be fair, I was like 9 years old and it was one of those stupid clamp cases 😩

Fletcher Cox anchored the Eagles defensive line for a decade plus after being drafted by Philly in 2012 out of Miss State. FC finished his career with 70 career sacks, 5th most in Philadelphia Eagles history (most by a DT), and a Super Bowl champion (Super Bowl LII)

Fellow collectors/fans of the hobby: thoughts on this set? I think it’s a pretty cool collaboration; at first I was indifferent, but the set kind of grew on me. Each set includes the 25-card base set, plus a numbered parallel- I got the green foil (#/99) Clayton Kershaw. The 25 card set features 12 Cubs and 12 Dodgers (Ohtani received two cards in the set, rightfully so). I’m going to send the two Ohtani cards, the numbered Kershaw, Yamamoto and PCA card in to PSA to be graded. If I had to change anything about the set: I would have removed a few players, maybe two from each team, making it a 21-card set. But the 25-card set was obviously intentional (since it’s commemorating the 2025 Tokyo Series lol). Overall I think it’s a pretty cool addition to any collection!
