August Grading Recap - New Record High

Hi all,
Sharing the August Grading Recap. Please let me know if you have any questions or follow ups related to the data. I'd be happy to research and respond if it is something we can tackle.
-Ryan
Overall grading activity was ⬆5% in August compared to July and ⬆17% YoY. 1.8 million cards were graded in August - a new record - narrowly surpassing the previous record set in May 2024.
— PSA graded 1.39m cards - ⬆10% vs July, ⬆13% YoY. This is a new record high for PSA.
— CGC graded 171k cards - ⬇10% vs July, ⬆60% YoY.
— SGC graded 166k cards - ⬇14% vs July, ⬆40% YoY.
— Beckett graded 65k cards - ⬆19% vs July, ⬇13% YoY.
Category Notes
— TCG, football and soccer were the top performing categories in August and were all up 14% compared to July.
Other Notes
— As a reminder, SGC had 22,000 cards added to July totals to account for cards GemRate missed during the May and June reports. Results would have been down only 3% if not for the July adjustment.
— CGC added roughly 100,000 phone cards from a 1990s set to its pop report in August; however, most of the grading activity was prior to August and therefore the set was not included in August results. The set will be included in annual totals.
