John was a left wing for 14 National Hockey League seasons. Starting in his second season he led the Detroit Red Wings in goals for six consecutive seasons. A trade to the Quebec Nordiques ended his run but he would traded to the New York Rangers after half a season and lead them in goals once. John Ogrodnick turns 67 today.
