Behold, a 22kt gold-plated, signed, special edition of, "Slaughterhouse Five" by Kurt Vonnegut that I received as a gift a few years ago
Most people read Vonnegut in high school and never revisit him.
On the other hand, he became my favorite author of all time and I've read all of his books several times
His writing is accessible and hilarious, which often distracts readers from a profound underlying message
Kurt would not have been a collector, and would have scoffed at the idea that one reprint of his books would be valued by anyone for hundreds/ thousands of dollars
I can live with that..
If you enjoyed Slaughterhouse Five, try the movie "Arrival" starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner
Quoth Kurt:
“Like so many Americans, she was trying to construct a life that made sense from things she found in gift shops."
