On September 5, 1954, future Hall of Famer Hank Aaron experienced the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat on the same day. Hammerin' Hank went 4-for-4 in the first game of a doubleheader, helping the Milwaukee Braves to a 9-7 victory over the Chicago Cubs. In the second game, Aaron broke his ankle, sliding into third base in the 8th inning ending his season with a .280 BA, 13 HRs, and 69 RBIs.
