On November 21, 1934, the NY Yankees famously purchased Joe DiMaggio's contract from the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League.
This card is considered by many in the hobby to be one of Joe DiMaggio's rookie cards.
This card is one of my all-time favorites - the image is perfect.
This photo was taken in one of his first Spring Training games and is one of, if not the first press photo of Joe DiMaggio in action in a NY Yankee uniform.
Notice that he is wearing #18, which is the number he was assigned in Spring Training, before he took up #5 early in his rookie season.
