“Hoff” debuted in 1980 as a replacement for an injured Butch Hobson at third base. With the acquisition of Carney Lansford he moved to shortstop in 1981 and was the Boston Red Sox starter at the position for the next three seasons before moving to more of a backup middle infielder role for the remainder of his career. Brother of Hall of Fame closer, Trevor, Glenn Hoffman turns 68 today.
