Mail CALL! š£ Babe Ruth
2019 Leaf Metal #SB-17 Game Used New York Bat Blue Refractor, Babe Ruth #5/5ā
Today's mail is very meaningful to me as a retired U.S. Army veteran.
When I learned that there was a Babe Ruth baseball card with an image of him in his U.S. Army uniform, I knew what I had to do.
I love this card so much.
Babe Ruth had no combat military career but served in the New York National Guard during WWI, enlisting in the 104th Field Artillery Division in 1917. Although he was drafted and registered, he was granted a deferral because he was married and received a deferral to play professional baseball. He later served in a morale-building role during World War II, making visits to troops and participating in war bond drives.
