1952 Topps Baseball ⭐ Brooklyn Dodgers Team Set
This is my second favorite Team Set from the 1952 Topps Baseball card issue.
The 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers were the primary subjects of Roger Kahn’s iconic 1972 book, "The Boys of Summer".
Kahn famously used the term to describe the core group of players who formed the legendary, integrated Dodgers teams of the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The 1952 squad, which won the National League pennant, featured many of the famous players who earned the "Boys of Summer" moniker.
Key players on the 1952 roster included:
Jackie Robinson
Duke Snider
Roy Campanella
Gil Hodges
Pee Wee Reese
Carl Furillo
Carl Erskine
The team's success during the 1952 and 1953 seasons (both of which ended in World Series losses to the Yankees) served as the foundation for the classic book's nostalgia.
