Lately I’ve been having fun buying up 1999 Black Diamond Quadruples (#’d to 150) and Pacific Paramount Holo-Silvers (#’d to 99) in both baseball and football. The Black Diamond quads are beautiful and I believe undervalued: You can buy mid-level all-stars at $8-15 each. The Holo-Silvers are even more affordable, averaging $3-5 for an all-star. Any cheaper and they’d be free.

As if I needed another collecting vertical, I recently started grabbing Upper Deck Black Diamond quadruples from 1998 (football) and 1999 (baseball). They look so crisp and are numbered to only 150. This insert set has major condition issues with edge chipping and soft corners. Prices are all over the place due to minimal comps and condition, but I snagged all five of these for under $100 total and they’re probably in the PSA 7-8 range. It might be apt to describe this set as the poor man’s Precious Metal Gems.
