Happy Father's Day, Mantel!🙏
Thank you for being my friend on this platform and indulging me yet again.
Every Father's Day I reflect on the profound impact my Dad had on me and my life's path.
A passion for collecting baseball cards was one of the things my Dad imprinted on me, but far from most important.
My Dad was a blast to be with, but a no-nonsense teacher & disciplinarian when needed.
He provided me with the framework within which I have lived my life well.
He taught me the most important opportunity in America is the offer to become educated.
He taught me that even a person with average intelligence can go far with good manners.
He taught me that participation in organized athletics is the best way to learn life's many complex lessons.
He taught me to never give up.
He taught me be kind whenever possible - it's always possible.
He taught me to not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
He taught me that we live in a Nation of laws, which apply to all and not subject to the whims of self-serving leaders.
Most importantly, he taught me that integrity is non-negotiable. A man's word is his bond.
My Dad's been gone from this earth for 21 years, but I think of him every day and in nearly everything that I do.
Be Thou At Peace, Dad. 🙏❤
