When letterhead was art

One of Einstein's last signed letters before his passing

I'm a bit of an astrophysics buff, and have always been fascinated w/ relativity and quantum mechanics. I won this piece at auction a few years ago, and it is one of Einstein's last signed letters written a few weeks before his death. This correspondence wasn't talking about theories or equations, but rather a thank you letter to a class of 5th graders who sent him a birthday gift, where you see a man reflect on his mortality and humanity. Included in the auction is the original signed letter, the stamped envelope, as well as clippings from various newspapers that picked up on the letter, giving it further provenance.

One of my favorite pieces in my PC

Post image 1

I love vintage autos, especially of HOF greats and ones that had an impact on the game of sport. Jackie Robinson is one of my all time favorites for all the obvious reasons. My father in law is a die hard Dodger can and has stacks of postcards and in some cases letters from Dodger greats. He would write in and they would actually respond and in instance, full letters describing pivotal plays in their careers.

This one is neat in that a kid asks for tips. Jackie's response is just great. I wish I had a full hand written letter from him.
