Pats end up moving on from Dugger and Keion White. Trading White to the 49ers along with a 7th round pick for a 6th round pick. Dugger went to the Steelers for a similar trade adding a 7th round pick and a 6th.
This marks the last remnants of the Belichick way leaving Gillette. All said and done the Patriots are freeing up plenty of cap space totaling around $6.6 million this year.
More trades to come before the deadline?
It was tough to watch Myles Garrett break the Browns franchise sack record during the Pats win yesterday. He looked dejected and very frustrated and this is a man who just received the biggest contract of his life. My hope is that maybe the Patriots make an offer for him that would allow the Browns to have cap room to improve for the next couple years, the Patriots can gain some consistency on their D line, and even make a decent playoff push. I mentioned earlier this year about Dugger being a trade piece but now I’m even thinking K. White would be included along with some draft picks might get the deal done.
I do apologize for posting about Duran post the other night, I got fooled by some click bait on Facebook haha. Most of what I say is just speculation anyways.
You might thing this is an overstatement, but the facts line up. Bill Belichick is considered to be one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time, and rightly so. He coached the Patriots to six Super Bowl wins in 20 years. He coached a six round pick to become the greatest NFL QB of all time. Bills has had a great career, and I’m not trying to discredit him. However, I think he has passed his coaching prime.
Last night, Bill and UNC lost its third straight game, and had a costly fumble inside the end zone. UNC was one of the worst roaster in all of college football. Many saying before the season that he could lead the Tar Hills to a playoff spot, but they are far from that. Now, the same people who said Bill could lead UNC to the playoffs, are now saying that he is not the path to the worst college coach ever. However, Bill’s coaching downfall came long before this, but we were blind to it.
•The last playoff game that Coach Belichick won was back on January 13, 2019. That’s 6 years, almost 7, since his last playoff victory! Since then, the Patriots lost two playoff wins, one a blowout loss to the Bills 47-14.
•He has struggled since Tom Brady left. The Patriots start several QBs since Brady left, Belichick was not able to coach them into a success to take Brady’s place. Mac Jones looked hopeful, but the strange hiring of Matt Patricia almost ruined his development. Now that Jones is having a somewhat successful season in San Francisco, it makes you wonder whether Belichick had lost the ability to develop QBs like he did with Brady 25 years ago.
•When Belichick was fired by the Patriots, 9 teams were looking for a head coach, but only the Falcon interviewed him. All 9 teams pasted, and for good reasons. No team’s regrets passing on him.
It hard to imagine seeing Bill Belichick coach in the NFL again after this coaching disaster. Just like players get wasted, and can no longer play, it can happened to coaches. That’s the case for Bill Belichick. I can’t see Bill coaching for the NFL, or college again. If was ever were to coach, it would be for probably for a high school team, huge blow for one of the greatest coaches of all time. What should Bill do? He should retire, and be grateful for the coaching career he had. Go down to Florida, golf with Brady and Gronk, enjoy watching football. Get a new girlfriend, and maybe travel around the world. Possibilities are endless for him!
What do think about Bill’s future, let me know in the comments.
