Since I shared a Penny piece earlier, I thought I’d follow it up with a Penny/Roamcouch collaboration. It’s cool when two artists you like collaborate on the same painting. This piece has 30+ hand-cut stencils (look at the detail - that’s ALL done with spray paint!) and then shipped to Japan for the Japanese stencil-master Roamcoach to paint. Painting on a sheet of uncut US $1 bills. Hand-painted spacers by me!

The England based artist penny, @onepennypiece on Instagram is known for his exquisitely, detailed hand, cut, layered stencil and spray paint pieces. He often uses bank notes from various countries around the world as mini canvases. Some of his paintings are in intricately cut stencils, sometimes as many as 30 or more layers to get the level of detail and shading in his pieces.
