To all the mothers out there who DIDNT throw away the old sports cards and Pokemon cards once their kids went off to college….Happy Mother’s Day.

When I went to Korea three years ago and I was BARELY back into the hobby I loved growing up as a kid, my umma (Korean for mom) gave me some of the cards I kept as a kid in a plastic grocery bag. The others were thrown away by my dad (story for another day I suppose).

This Kobe Stardate was the best of the bunch, pack pulled by a Korean-American teenager living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at that time. Liked Kobe well enough, but was more of a Jordan kid and thought this young upstart was such a wannabe of Jordan that it was pretty corny. At least those were my thoughts back then.

Thank you 엄마 and to all the mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day (and yes, even the ones who threw away binders and shoeboxes that probably had amazing cards in them)
