1939 R303-B Goudey Premiums, Bill Dickey. ⭐ Read the back of this card, that's where the party is at.
On August 4, 1932, Bill Dickey returns to the New York Yankees lineup after being fined $1,000 and suspended until Carl Reynolds, the player whose jaw he broke in two places healed and was ready to play (31 days).
Dickey returned with a bang leading the Yanks with four hits, including a grand slam, in a 15-3 Yankee victory over the White Sox.
Short backstory: Carl Reynolds barreled over Dickey, who was blocking the plate, knocking Dickey nearly senseless. As Reynolds returned to touch home plate, Dickey punched him, breaking Reynold's jaw and the rest is history.
Happy Monday friends and card folk, have a great week! 🌞
